More Search Web Parts
We learned yesterday that Search Results Pages are built of many Web Parts, including the Search Results Web Part, responsible for performing the main body of the search.
But there are a few other Web Parts on this page.
On the left of the page is the Refinement Web Part.
Once the results are in, this shows up to 10 filters – or Refiners – based on values of Managed Properties that show up in the current search results.
The page also has a Search Box Web Part of its own, so you can make further searches straight from the results.
Underneath the Search Box is the Search Navigation Web Part.
This displays a centrally managed list of links to alternative Search Result Pages, which by default, perform different kinds of search.
We’ll look at that mechanism in tomorrow’s SharePoint Thing a Day.
